We invite you to apply to the University Honors Program. Admission is selective and based on a holistic review of your entire application. Honors students are driven, curious, and committed to improving themselves. Outstanding applicants have a demonstrable track record of academic achievement and are engaged leaders who want to make positive contributions to the NIU community and beyond.
Please note: You must maintain a cumulative NIU GPA of at least 3.30 in order to remain in good standing and graduate with honors.

Complete an online application. Your application includes an essay of no more than 500 words on how you would benefit from and contribute to the NIU honors community.
First-year Retreat Fee
There is no fee to join the University Honors Program. However, there is a cost to participate in the first-year retreat at Lorado Taft. Find out more about the retreat and reserve your spot.
